K-Line irrigation

K-Line Irrigation

K-Line pod irrigation in place of moving hand line: easy to change, easy to move, with pressure compensated sprinklers for hilly ground.

Chapter 01

Tired of moving hand line around?

That is the question Akland asks on its own K-Line page, and anyone who has set hand line, moved it and set it again knows why. The chore comes back every time the line has to go somewhere new.

K-Line is the other way to water that ground. Akland has K-Line on hand and says the system is easy to change and easy to move, so moving the system does not have to be the hardest part of the season.

Uniform water, even on hills

In Akland’s words: “K-Lines many options include sprinklers that offer uniform water delivery, even in very hilly terrain. Pressure compensated sprinklers result in good uniformity, even with hills or longer lateral lines.”

That matters in the Yakima Valley, where plenty of ground is not flat. A pressure compensated sprinkler is built to keep its output steady as the pressure along the line changes, which is what a slope or a long lateral does to the water. The result is a field watered evenly instead of one that is wet at the bottom and short at the top.

The other idea behind K-Line is the one Akland states plainly: it is designed to fit the field, not the field altered to fit the irrigation system.

Chapter 03

Buying K-Line from Akland

Alan Bade bought a K-Line set up from Akland and wrote that the price was “alot less than I expected.” He added: “Mark took the extra time to explain how to set it up and everything turned out great.”

If you want to learn about K-Line for your ground, call the shop or stop by the store on Fruitvale Blvd. Already running wheel line or hand line and not ready to change? That work is covered on the wheel line and hand-line page, with gaskets and parts on the shelf.

Alan Bade, in his customer testimonial: “Mark took the extra time to explain how to set it up and everything turned out great.” Call (509) 452-7867.

Hand line or K-LineYakima

Two ways to water the same ground

Staying with hand line

  • Moving hand line around is the job that K-Line is meant to replace.
  • Akland still repairs wheel line and hand-line and carries a large selection of gaskets and parts to keep your fields in water.
  • Details are on the wheel line and hand-line page.

Switching to K-Line

  • Easy to change, easy to move.
  • Sprinklers that offer uniform water delivery, even in very hilly terrain.
  • Pressure compensated sprinklers for good uniformity, even with hills or longer lateral lines.
  • Designed to fit the field, not the field altered to fit the irrigation system.

Alan Bade put it this way after buying a K Line set up: “Should have done this years ago.” Questions about which fits your field? See irrigation pumps for the pressure side, or ask at the store.
