Well Pumps & Pressure Tanks in Yakima, WA
Domestic water well pump installation and repair, pressure tanks and constant pressure systems, with an after-hours tech for a house with no water.
Chapter 01
No water, or a pump that will not stop cycling
Two calls come in more than any others at a well pump counter: the house has no water, or the pump keeps clicking on and off. They can look alike from the kitchen sink and have different causes. No water can be the pump, the control box, the wiring or the plumbing between them. Fast cycling is very often the pressure tank.
Akland’s own explanation of the tank is plain. It holds a small amount of water so your pump does not turn on every time you use it, and it does not cause high or low pressure. If the pump is cycling, turning on and off often or rapidly, the tank may need to be recharged with air or replaced.
That is a different repair from a pump replacement, and a good diagnosis keeps you from paying for the wrong one. Several skilled service technicians at the Yakima shop come out to diagnose a domestic water pump system and fix the water issues that involve it.

Replacing the pump, the control box or the plumbing
When the pump itself is done, the job often runs past the pump: the control box, the wire down the well, the pipe and fittings at the house. Ricardo T. dealt with Dylan from beginning to end and had his pump, control box and plumbing replaced.
Need a price on a new pump? Call with the depth of the well, the water level and the distance to power, and the shop puts an estimate together from those three numbers. Akland does not drill wells. A well driller drills it, and Akland installs the pump after.
The pump work sits beside a fully stocked supply store at the same Fruitvale Blvd address, with pressure tanks, pump parts, and PVC and galvanized fittings on the shelves, so a repair is not waiting on a part from somewhere else.
Chapter 03
Yearly checks, constant pressure, and after-hours calls
Akland’s own advice is that a domestic house pump should get a yearly service check, so a worn part gets caught while the water is still running.
Constant pressure systems pair the pump with a variable frequency drive so the house sees steady pressure no matter how many taps are open. Akland installs and services both the pump and the drive, which is the setup in the photo at the top of this page.
Pumps do not always fail between 7:30 and 5:00. After the shop closes for the day or the weekend, call the regular number, (509) 452-7867, and you are directed to the after-hours service technician, who can come out and repair or replace your domestic water pump. After-hours rates apply.

What to have ready when you call about a new pump
The first three items are what the shop asks for to put an estimate together. The last two help the technician picture the problem before anyone drives out.
- The depth of the well.
- The water level in the well.
- The distance from the well to power.
- What the pump is doing now: no water, cycling on and off, or running without building pressure.
- Whether the house has a pressure tank, and whether the pump clicks on every time a tap opens.
Not sure whether it is the pump or the tank? Say so. If the water is for a field instead of a house, the irrigation pump page is the right one, and parts for a do-it-yourself fix are at the supply store.
“These guys did a great job installing a new pressure tank for me. They were fast and made it right after some slight miscommunication on the invoicing. I will definitely use again when in need.”
“Bob did an incredible job installing a new well pump. He was a pleasure to do work with.”
